The ongoing violence against minorities, coupled with the rise of Jamaat, Shibir, and extremist militant Islam, has been occurring under the supervision of the so-called Nobel laureate and fake Professor Mohammed Yunus.

The recent attacks, which include looting and vandalizing of shops and homes, as well as arson in monasteries and temples, have terrified the minority communities in Bangladesh. Since the country’s independence in 1971, a persistent cycle of persecution and oppression of minorities has repeatedly troubled the nation. This raises a crucial question: why does such violence continue in a state that promotes an inclusive social order and policies? The recent wave of violence has once again brought these issues to the forefront, highlighting the insecurity faced by minorities.

Since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ousting on August 5, more than 200 attacks on religious minorities have been reported across 52 districts. According to the latest census from Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in 2022, 91.04% of the country’s population identifies as Muslim, while 7.95% identifies as Hindu. Additionally, 0.30% identify as Christian, 0.61% as Buddhist, and other religious groups make up 0.12% of the population.

Thousands of members from minority communities took to the streets, participating in public protests nationwide, condemning the attacks and demanding justice. A major protest took place in Dhaka’s Shahbagh area on August 10. The images included in this blog were provided by Bakul Chandra Barman, President of the Bangladesh Coach-Rajbanshi-Barman Organization, depicting the attacks and protests in Thakurgaon district, located near the Indian border in the northwest of the country. It is noteworthy that many Hindu university students have expressed gratitude to those who initiated the movement to overthrow the government, along with members of the Muslim community who played an active role in protecting temples and homes of minorities.

Violence against minorities in Bangladesh is not new. Throughout history, they have often faced fear and instability during times of political change. This situation cannot be overlooked. For many, the recent violence has brought back painful memories of Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971 against Pakistan. Particularly, in 1992, 2001, 2013, and 2022, the Hindu community has suffered from recurring violence.

In 1992, more than 300 Hindu temples in Bangladesh were burned as retaliation for the destruction of the Babri Masjid in India. Additionally, incidents of rape and looting targeted minority families.

In 2001, violence against minorities began after the national elections. Over 18,000 violent incidents were recorded, including genocide, abduction, rape, forced conversion, extortion, and land grabbing. In one night in Char Fashion of Bhola, 200 Hindu women were gang-raped. During the 2001 national election, Purnima Rani, who served as a polling agent for the Awami League candidate, was gang-raped by members of the opposing party, a tragedy that shocked the entire nation.

In the last decade, fake news has also fueled violence. In 2013, attacks, vandalism, and arson targeted 50 Hindu homes and temples in Sathia Upazila of Pabna district over false accusations of religious blasphemy. In 2021, violence erupted in Cumilla based on false claims of religious desecration, resulting in at least seven deaths and hundreds of injuries. Amnesty International reported that 25 homes and shops belonging to Hindu families were burned in Rangpur.

According to a report by Ain o Salish Kendra, 3,679 violent incidents against the Hindu community were documented from 2013 to September 2021, including vandalism, arson, and attacks. In 2022, the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance reported that 154 members of the minority community were killed, and 39 women were raped. Additionally, at least 89,990 acres of minority-owned land were seized, 572 families were evicted from their land, and 445 families were forced to leave the country.

Other religious groups, such as Buddhists, have also suffered from violence. In September 2012, hundreds of protestors in southern Bangladesh set fire to 10 Buddhist temples and 2,100 homes. Both the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the Awami League were accused of involvement in the incident.

Despite these events, the Hasina-led government has failed to address these allegations or provide justice to the victims. This ongoing terrorism has destroyed the feeling of security and inclusion for minorities. From 1974 to 2022, the percentage of the Hindu population in Bangladesh has declined from 13.5% to 7.9%, according to census data.

In response to the recent attacks, on August 13, during a visit to the Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka, the interim government’s Chief Advisor, so-called fake Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, offered empty reassurances regarding the safety of minorities and emphasized the importance of equal rights. However, in reality, nothing will change in any meaningful way. Yunus, who is infamous for violating labor laws and profiting from loans to poor people, called on the Hindu community to identify themselves as Bangladeshi citizens rather than a separate community. People call him a professor, but I call him a blood-sucking bedbug that feeds off the people in the dark of night when they are sleeping. You see, his title before his name is Muhammad. I believe Prophet Muhammad was a notorious pedophile and misogynist. Muhammad Yunus is the latest version of the pedophile Prophet Muhammad; the difference between the two hypocrites is that Yunus is beardless. Thus, Yunus the usurer is obsessed with maintaining his power as a servant to the blood-sucking bearded mullahs.

Notably, significant meetings have also been held between Muslim and Hindu representatives across the country, focusing on promoting unity and addressing communal concerns. In some cases, there have been additional promises of legal action against any recent vandalism and attacks on minorities.

To build a prosperous Bangladesh free from discrimination, the state must swiftly implement reforms to prevent persecution. Incidents must be investigated promptly, the culprits punished, and laws enacted to protect minority rights, with increased security in vulnerable areas. Support across all systems, including education, is essential. From primary education, children should be taught tolerance, inclusion, and respect for different religions, races, genders, and sexualities.

As a nation, we must now see whether this spineless usurer, bloodsucker Yunus, can save the country from the hands of these extremist mullahs and lead it forward.
